Youth Art Month Exhibit at IVPL

Youth Art Month Exhibit at IVPL
SOUDERTON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT is celebrating Youth Art Month with their K-12 Art Exhibit at Indian Valley Public Library open from March 1- 29.
We are proudly presenting artwork from each of our 6 Elementary Schools, both Middle schools, as well as our High School.

This exhibit provides a window into the creative accomplishments of our students, a result of
Souderton Area School District’s commitment to providing every student with a quality visual
arts education.

Our students are taught a wide range of media techniques and composition skills and
encouraged to be observant, curious, and to make connections. Inspiration comes from
historical and global art forms, contemporary art, and the students' own lives and
experiences.
Creativity is developed through practicing the processes of brainstorming, decision-making,
questioning, experimenting, risk taking, and personal reflection.
A broad spectrum of mediums and techniques are represented including: drawing, painting,
printmaking, sculpture, clay, collage, jewelry, repousse, textiles, mixed media and
illustration.
This is a great community building event. Dr. Dave Purnell, Principal at Salford Hills
Elementary School shared, "Youth Art Month at the Indian Valley Public Library is a joy for
everyone. Students feel encouragement and pride in their efforts. Parents and our community
enjoy inspired creativity and celebrate a refreshing view of what our students and teachers
accomplish together." The students are so excited to see their work in public and show their
families and friends. The patrons at the library savor walking around and seeing the variety of
projects. “IVPL patrons and staff look forward each year to SASD Youth Art Month held
during the month of March. We continue to be amazed at the quality of art produced by the
students. Kudos to all of the art educators who make this happen.” said Margie Stern,
Director, IVPL.  Please come by the Indian Valley Public library during the month of March and view the exhibit.

Art is for everyone!
