Miss Fisher taught English at Souderton Area High School from 1937-1959.
I was a student in her 12th grade English class. In order to get an A you had to memorize Shakespeare speech monologues from different plays. I worked really hard to memorize the speeches. I had to stand in front of the class and present my speeches. I had to stand in front of the two biggest bullies in the school. When I was finished she said 'Carol, You Presented More Than anybody else in the class...You get an A!
Elizabeth Fisher was the kindest, smartest and most creative teacher I ever had. She really cared about each student and she made English, a subject that everyone could learn and grow from.
