Souderton Area High School 2021 Fall Athletic Update

Field Hockey 

Lauren Kenah -  Field Hockey

The field hockey team is currently 11-1 and undefeated in league play. They are currently ranked 1st in District 1 class AAA.   Led by Senior University of Virginia commit Lauren Kenah, the team looks to continue their success through the last few weeks of the season.   

Boys Soccer 


Aidan McClure Souderton Soccer

The boys soccer team is currently 8-2-2.  In the next 2 weeks, they have important home matches vs CB South, North Penn, and CB West in the next two weeks.  Aidan McClure and the defending group of Tyler Bovell, Tyson Bui, Ryan Schewe, and Thomas Smith have posted six shutouts so far.  Nolan Hughes leads the team with seven goals and five assists so far.   Dillon Barbieri continues to pace the offense with his elite athleticism and footwork.  

Girls Soccer 

The girls' soccer team is 2-10-1. Throughout the year the team has been working to string together consistent performances in a season that has been filled with injuries. They have an important stretch of in-conference games coming up, and are hoping to finish out the season with some more consistent performances. 

Girls Cross Country 

The girls XC team is 4 - 4 (1 - 3 in the league). Francie Flores ran the 2nd fastest time on our course in the last 8 years and looks primed for a run at states. 

Boys Cross Country 

The boys Cross country team is currently 7-2.  Top 3 runners Aiden Maue,  Manny Rota-Talarico, and Aidan Kearns are ranked 4th, 6th, and 7th in school history.  They face North Penn on Wednesday.   

Girls Volleyball 

Women’s volleyball is currently 8-4 overall and 5-3 in conference play. They hit a mid-season stride after their victory over the undefeated in conference CB East. Alyssa Reiner is a huge leader offensively, with lots of support from setter Nikki Hamilton, and defensive players like Alexa Mazzeo.  

Football 


Brayden Porter - Football

Varsity football currently has a 4-3 record (3-1 in the SOL Continental). Sr. RB Brayden Porter has accumulated 753 yards from scrimmage (rushing and receiving) and scored 7 TDs. Sr. QB Nate Hageman has thrown for 591 yards and 4 TDs. Soph. WR Danny Dyches leads the team in receiving with 14 receptions for 188 yards and a TD. Sr. LB Luke Pollock paces the defense with 87 tackles. The Indians are currently ranked #14 in District 1 6A (16 teams qualify for playoffs). 

Girls Water Polo 

The girls water polo team continues to improve and progress week by week. Currently ranked 5th place in the Eastern Conference and holding on to a Play In Bid to the PA State Championship Tournament, the girls continue to keep their foot on the gas.  In an impressive showing this past weekend, the girls competed with 3rd place Central Conference team Governor Mifflin, losing by only 3 goals. They finished the weekend with a 16-6 victory over Hazelton.   

Boys’ Water Polo 

The team is currently 3 - 18, but they are steadily improving and still having fun.  Their best win was over Pennridge this past Thursday night, avenging an early season loss the first time the teams played.   They have 5 games left over the next two weeks and will be working hard to keep things on a positive track. 

Girls Tennis 


Amanda Yang Souderton - Tennis 

Souderton Girls Tennis finished the season with a 6-5 record, including two straight wins against Hatboro Horsham and Plymouth Whitemarsh to close out the season.  Sophomore Amanda Yang came in second in the league singles tournament and made it to the quarter-finals in the district tournament.  Yang and Freshman Avantika Manna came in second in the league doubles tournament and will be competing in the district tournament next week. 

Golf 

The Souderton Golf team finished the season 4-8. They had 11 golfers represent Souderton at the SOL Tournament and 4 golfers move on to the District 1 Tournament. District Qualifiers included: Jack Graboski, Aidan Scott, Jacob Dommel, and Alexandra Engart
